Since I'm living on a budget (aka, I'm broke and in college) I'm not buying my mom anything for Mother's Day, instead I'm going to blog about her which she will never see. So Happy Mother's Day, Mom. You da real MVP. One of my favorite things about my Ma (why do I call her Ma? Wish I knew. Must be a hillbillly thing) is that she accepts how weird I am and has become equally as weird. I could come up with any pet name ever and she would come up with one just as off-the-wall. Case in point, here are some actual texts between the two of us.
Me: Guess what baby
Mom: What pickle?
Me: Thanks baby duck
Mom: Anytime bullfrog
Me: I might have to start requiring you guys to call me by my street name (which I'm still coming up with)
Mom: Kidney bean
Me: (uplifting text to make her feel better about her shitty family)
Mom: Thanks peanut butter
Sometimes I want to play a game with her and see how weird of names I can call her before she starts to question my sanity. I think it would take a lot, she's had many years to get used to the fact I'm not a normal daughter.
Besides being my Turtle Toes (something I could call her and she'd be okay with), my mom also is always looking out for me on the dating front...
About my being always sick thanks to the babes at the daycare, "Marry any kind of doctor with lots of doctor friends" or "You better marry a dermatologist"
A picture of the group at Kasey's birthday, with her dad in the picture. "Is that a boy?"
Sent her a picture of the group at the toga party... "Nice. Those boys look like trouble lol have fun but remember never take a drink from anyone and don't go to the bathroom alone"
Shout out to you Ma, always got a girl's back
So, basically my mom is the best thing that ever happened to me. I know she thinks she was lucky to end up with my dad, but he is the lucky one. She is beautiful, honest, great at advice giving, and she can put up with a crazy family. I would honestly consider her my best friend, but she hates the term best friend because I have like 10 of them and to her that's not "best." So she's a "special" friend to me and I'm forever thankful for her.
